July 9 - Pigeon River

Launching at the put-in on Old Vanderbilt Road.                              ( Mike photo)

Leader Ron sets the tone.

Mike, an unarmed participant.

Ron and Bert dueling.

Jackie came around the sharp bend backwards and continued without mishap with Ron and Bert
on duty assisting.                                             (photo by Mike)

Somehow Olivia squeezed through a surprise route around to river left.

Brad's turn.

A jubilant Ron conquers his nemesis from last year.

Portrait time at lunch -- passport photos they are not!

An Eagle soared and soared above as we ate, and there were many summer flowers in bloom: elderberry,
swamp milkweed, blue vervain. And mustard white butterflies were busy sucking minerals from the soil to
supplement their nectar diets.

"OK Coral" finale at the takeout just past the Pigeon River Campground -- Ron targets Paul.

Jackie and Ron's final duel, and after loading up, we all repaired to 5 Guys in Gaylord for hamburgers.
