It was a beautiful day to try a section of the Pigeon river I've never been on before. Although the Sturgeon river boasts of
being the fastest water in lower Michigan after running the section you'll soon disagree with that assumption. We had about 6-1/2 to 7 miles of fast current which at times was Beitner Rapids speed. The total trip was 9 miles , took use about 4 total hours including the lunch stop and 4 portages none of which were overly difficult.
