This was first time on the Big Sable for most of us. Lucky for us we had Wayne Andersen along to show us the way through the river which has many braids in it and to navigate us through the marsh before reaching out take out. The current is fairly slow so it's an easy paddle for just about anyone. The trick is to select the right channel and be very sure to mark a waypoint where the takeout is if you haven't paddled the marsh before or it could be a long day finding your way to your car. The river itself is a thing of beauty with ever changing scenery, it reminded us of Bear Creek, the Upper Manistee, parts of the Boardman and Pigeon.
Jackie at the put in
Linnaea scooching under a tree, Jackie is next
Much of the river was a tunnel of trees
The take out we made it ..Thank you very much Wayne
The marsh, you definently don't want to get turned around in it
