Special thanks to Sara for letting me lift her FB post and photos.
Thanks to Lois Goldstein for organizing the TAPC paddle for 12 members from Penrod's on the AuSable to Stephan Bridge, with a short stop at Burton's Landing. We met for lunch at Shirley's in the Woods on the way to Grayling, so the group didn't get on the river until 2:30 PM after Marv did the shuttle. We made good time on this 11-13 mile section in 2:45 hours, plus the 15-minute break. Jackie brought her new rescue pup, and Paul & Irene brought their new trailer. We spotted a pair of Canada geese with 5 goslings, and passed by approximately 50 fly fishermen. We paddled one tandem canoe, 3 solo canoes, and 7 kayaks for the first TAPC paddle of the season, though most folks had paddled recently. It was a perfect afternoon, warm 69 F & partly sunny, with lots of catching up with friends after a long winter.
