Cedar Lake Paddle

It was a beautiful, clear morning on Cedar Lake. Howie, Trish, and I were on the water before 10 a.m., and we had a very pleasant circuit of the lake. Howie and Trish paddled their Skylarks, and I was in the Arctic Tern 14. Except for a couple of fishing boats, we had the lake to ourselves, and the surface was like a mirror. It was nice catching up after not seeing one another since last year! We saw a Common Loon who wasn't at all shy, Common Mergansers, Mallards, Barn Swallows, Kingfishers, and a Green Heron. We explored the outlet; the water has become rather shallow there in the few weeks since I was there.
All in all, it was a great way to begin the summer paddling season!
