Trip report by Lois
Jocelyn, Wayne and Mischief, Larry (new member), Brad, Marlene and Leader Lois
The water level was fairly low. I ended up caught on a gravel bar twice; the first time Larry asked me if I was stopping t=for a rest - nope! I managed to skootch off the first time, but the second time I had to get out of the kayak to get going again. It was a fairly warm day, so the water felt good on my feet!
As you can see from the photos below, we spotted tons of cool wildlife. When the trip was over, six of us (including shuttle bunny Marv and Larry's wife Pat) headed to the Platte River Inn for lunch.

Wayne and Mischief (who swam or ran alongside for over half of the outing)
Five of us spotted this doe and two nursing fawns - very cool!
This eagle flew right over our heads and then decided to check us out from a tree.
We had a short break at the gas line: Lois, Larry, Marlene, Brad
Irises and paddlers

Branched burweed
A busted swan egg
Jocelyn can't resist picking up trash, though the pickings were slim
