July 8 Peaceful Boardman morning

Who would have thought that after a week of crowds downtown at the National Cherry Festival, that we would literally be the ONLY paddlers on the Boardman River on the last day of the event?
Jacqui, John & I had a very peaceful cruise from Scheck's to Shumsky, with John using his solo canoe for the first time since his back surgery in March of 2022 (and the past couple of years before that). We met a few fishermen in the passing through the Brown Bridge Quiet Area, but otherwise, that was it. We spent 3 hours on the river, including a short break at BBL. A little bit of rain, but we had jackets, so it was no big deal - I had about 1/4 cup of water in my boat at the end. The sun was out when we finished. Lunch at Bergstrom's Burgers - yummy!
