July 22 Upper Manistee

It was a delightful trip, and we heard the most wonderful words just as we approached the takeout at Cameron Bridge. "Oh, are we done already?"
Unlike some other recent trips on this stretch of river, rather than putting in at C-38, our little group launched at John's Landing, also known as Deward North. We had only one or two dicey situations that required assistance from each other, and most of the beaver dams were easily traversed. Lunch time came at just about the right time, and we were off the river at 3:30. One of the highlights of the trip was accepting help from the family at the end with hauling our boats up the embankment so they could get on with their tubing adventure.
Participants included Marlene, John and Lois, and Paul and Irene. Before the trip, we presented Marv a gift card, courtesy of the TAPC board, to thank him for providing shuttle services for so many club outings this year. The weather was gorgeous, and we all had a great time.
