Traverse Area Paddle Club provided an excellent paddle on Betsie River from Thompsonville to County Line Rd. on Saturday morning. It started out with concerns about the weather since it had been raining all morning. Different weather apps showed different forecasts for the morning, five of the paddlers decided not to go on the river that morning. But 5 others went on the paddle, including me.
Everyone left their rain jackets on to ensure that it wouldn’t rain. The paddle was excellent with many twists and turns that everyone smoothly danced the river swing. This section of the river has beautiful cedar trees, some flowers, and the beginnings of fall colors. This was not a cleanup, but several paddlers picked up garbage, which turned out to about two garbage bags full.
After the paddle a couple of people joined me at Cold Creek in Beulah for an excellent meal. Topping a perfect day off with Keylime pie
The 5 non wimpies who actually paddled. 😁
