Our outing will cover the stretch on the Manistee River from M-72 to the CCC Bridge.  We haven't had many TAPC trips on this section of the Manistee, but if you want to see what it was like on a previous trip, click here:

This section of the river is about 17 miles long; it's wide with quite a few turns, with a sandy bottom all the way. This means that we will actually be paddling (not  floating) for about five hours if you haven't paddled multiple times this year I strongly encourage you to PASS on this trip.  This trip is for TAPC members who have been paddling all season long and have spent many days in their boats this year.  In order to make sure that everyone has a good time, each person needs to bring a boat that is at least 12 feet long, so that we can keep the group together.  We will be paddling for about 5 hours, and will stop along the way for a  lunch break. This trip is an excellent one for paddlers of any skill level however if you haven't paddled multiple times and built up your endurance is strongly recommend you PASS on this trip.

We will meet at the access on the south side of M-72, just east of the Manistee River,
18.6 miles east of Kalkaska, and 8 miles west of Grayling.
